Please join us for Meet the Teacher & Curriculum Night that is scheduled for Thursday October 8 from 6:30 - 7:20 pm . The evening will be divided into 2 - 30 minute sessions. The 1st session begins at 6:30-6:50 pm and allows for a 10 minute changeover. The 2nd session runs from 7-7:20 pm. We say goodnight to families at 7:30 pm with an announcement. We are looking forward to seeing everyone! School Council would like to share that they have arranged for an Ice Cream Truck for this Thursday. The truck will arrive at 7 pm. If you wish to purchase ice cream for your child (ren) this is a cash only option. Please purchase ice cream on the way out of the building after Meet the Teacher & Curriculum Night has finished. Thanks! A percentage of sales goes back to LJPS fundraising!

Students in the unique leadership class at Emily Carr Secondary School are helping to build a more inclusive school community by planning and running events for students with special education needs.  The Leadership Class is designed to help students develop initiative, communication, teamwork and public speaking skills through lessons and taking an active role in planning and leading school activities.   The class focused on creating meaningful opportunities for students in the community class to connect with their peers, helping to foster a sense of belonging, inclusion and community within the school.   “My expectation for this activity is just to give them a sense that we’re all together, and that we don’t see them as someone with a disability. Hello LJPS Community Members, Lorna Jackson Public School is getting ready for the 2026 Terry Fox School Run! Again this year we are super excited to take part in this annual tradition that supports cancer research while building school spirit. We are excited to announce this year that we will be holding our annual Terry Fox walk on October 2nd. Please visit the Terry Fox Foundation page for more information.  Once again this year, we will be asking students to support this cause by bringing in their ‘Toonies for Terry’ to help continue Terry’s legacy and raise funds to help beat cancer. Again this year, please find our LJPS school page if you wish or prefer to donate online (donations are made to the school, not to a classroom). Our walk will begin at 1:45.   LJPS Bus Loop and Drop Off/Pick Up Safety & Routines   In an effort to keep students safe and keep school traffic flowing, we are sending out some information for our parents and guardians about our Bus Loop and Drop Off/Pick Up procedures.   The parking lot and bus loop   are closed to traffic from 8:30 – 8:45 am and at 3:15 – 3:30 pm and the gate will be closed. We have 10 morning and 12 afternoon buses that service both Elders Mills P.S. and Lorna Jackson P.S. that get priority access to our bus loop. This is important as buses must stay on time and enter and exit as per their schedule. At times, buses are late arriving for a variety of reasons and the bus loop must remain clear of vehicles until well after 8:45 am.   Where possible, we encourage everyone to walk to school. If you must drive, we ask parents/guardians to park curb lane on Napa Valley Ave. and walk your child (ren) onto school property along the sidewalk (see map). Please d...
